Google Ads management for roofers
Roofing jobs are high-value but infrequent, so a few wasted searches can quietly eat a month's budget. Material shoppers, DIY repairers and storm-chasing job seekers all click roofing ads.

Materials, DIY repair and roofing-job searches are the most common leaks.
- Materials and price research: shingle prices, metal roofing panels for sale.
- DIY repair searches: how to patch a roof leak, roof sealant.
- Roofing jobs, roofer pay and subcontractor searches.
- Commercial or flat-roof searches if you only do residential pitched roofs.
- Insurance-claim research that doesn't lead to an inspection.
Common tracking problems for roofing companies
Inspection and estimate requests are the key signal, and they often happen on the phone or in a separate scheduling tool.
Check that estimate requests are being recorded as conversions and that the count matches what your office sees.
Because roofing sales cycles are long, the ad click and the signed contract can be weeks apart. Tracking the inspection request is usually the most practical conversion to optimise toward.

What does a good cost per lead look like?
Compare cost per inspection with your close rate and average job value.
If you sign a set share of inspections, the cost per signed job is the cost per inspection divided by that share. That number, against your average job value, tells you whether the ads pay.
Repair leads and full replacement leads deserve different targets.
What should roofers review first?
Which searches cost the most with no estimate request, and whether storm-related spikes are being tracked.
- Exclude materials and DIY searches
- Separate repair from replacement
- Check location radius around your service area
- Confirm estimate forms report back to Google Ads
Frequently asked questions
Why does my roofing account spend a lot with few leads?
High-value keywords attract many researchers. Check search terms and make sure estimate requests are tracked before deciding the ads don't work.
Should I bid on storm damage searches?
Only if you serve the affected area and can respond quickly. Otherwise those clicks are often wasted.
Is the audit really free?
Yes. The free audit reads your account and shows your wasted spend and top fixes. No credit card.
