Google Ads management for home services businesses
Cleaners, landscapers, electricians, painters and handymen share the same problems: broad service keywords, a fixed service area, and leads that arrive by phone. An audit checks where the budget leaks across all your services at once.

DIY, career, wrong-service and out-of-area searches are the common leaks.
- How-to and tool-rental searches.
- Job and contractor-licence searches.
- Services you don't offer that broad matching links to yours.
- Searches from outside your service area.
- Very low-budget searches like 'cheap' or 'free estimate only' if they never book.
Common tracking problems for home services businesses
Phone calls, quote forms and booking tools each need checking — many home services accounts track only one of them.
If you offer several services, make sure conversions tell you which service the lead wanted. Otherwise a cheap service can hide an expensive one that never converts.
Quote requests made through a third-party scheduling tool often don't report back to Google Ads.

What does a good cost per lead look like?
Set a target per service, based on the typical job value and how often quotes become jobs.
A one-off small job and a recurring contract are worth very different amounts. Recurring work can justify a higher cost per lead.
If tracking is unreliable, count booked jobs from your own records and divide ad spend by them for a rough cost per job.
Where should a home services business start?
Service-by-service: which ones bring booked jobs, and which spend without results.
- One campaign or ad group per service
- Tight location targeting
- Minimum call length for call conversions
- Ad schedule that matches when you answer
Frequently asked questions
Should I run one campaign for all my services?
Separate campaigns or ad groups per service make it much easier to see which services pay and to set budgets accordingly.
Why do I get calls for services I don't offer?
Broad keywords match related services. Adding negative keywords for those services usually reduces wasted calls.
How long does the free audit take?
Most accounts are ready within a few minutes of connecting. Claritad reads the account; it never changes it.
